Overview of the bZ4X

Toyota bZ4X is a battery electric compact crossover SUV manufactured by Toyota Guangzhou Automobile Co., Ltd 

Toyota bZ4X is bZ family-oriented SUV-type BEV with a focus on utility. It is being jointly developed by GAC Toyota (Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd.) under the FAW-Toyota Motor Co., Ltd joint venture, a new medium 5-seat pure electric SUV, was officially launched on October, 2022 in China.

What does bZ4X mean?

First off, let’s start with the name: bZ4X. The first bit stands for “Beyond Zero”, the 4 signifies the size (presumably there’ll be a BZ3 or BZ5 in the future) and X means it’s an SUV/Crossover, just like every other new electric car these days.

The concept is “Activity Hub”

Toyota is striving to achieve innovation in all areas including the interior, styling, driving sensation, and performance with the aim of creating exciting cars where all passengers can share an enjoyable time and space.

A BEV-dedicated platform, a first for Toyota, was developed with Subaru based on the e- TNGA philosophy to achieve attractive, smooth, intuitive driving performance, not just for a BEV, but for any car, as well as the off-road performance of an authentic SUV.

Toyota will work to promote the proliferation of BEVs based on this approach. Regarding the bZ4X, Toyota will begin sales of the model globally as an option to promote CN, while considering market situations such as in North America, Europe, and China.

GAC-Toyota bZ4X Electric SUV: With a 71.4 kWh battery pack and dual-motor setup that produces a combined output of 215 kW (288 horsepower), the GAC Toyota bZ4X Electric SUV delivers impressive acceleration and power. It can go from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 6.5 seconds for the standard trim and in 6.0 seconds for the GT trim. Plus, with a range of up to 429 km (267 miles) on a single charge for the standard trim, you can take on any adventure without worrying about running out of power.
